Nothing to do for short term

Blog meant for 28 September Thursday 2017

Dear Friends,

Another negative day for our markets as Nifty fell by 136 points to close at 9736. The global cues were mixed and the European and US markets are positive as of now.

Markets fell majorly after news reports came that the Indian army had made surgical strikes in Mynanmar against some Naga militants.

The foreign investors have been continuously selling Indian stocks since August beginning and hence this fall. Other global markets have not fallen much during the same period compared to our markets. They must be of the opinion that Indian stocks had become very expensive especially considering that the Indian economy GDP has decreased to 5.7% compared to more than 7% in the previous year.

Such a fall is good for markets since the markets are adjusting to the actual economic and company situation rather than over optimism.

The technical analysis is as follows for short term –

SELL – RELIANCE, YESBANK, MARUTI, HDFC BANK, VEDANTA,

DON’T BUYS ARE- SBI, M&M, ACC, TITAN, HDFC, ASIAN PAINT, LARSEN, INFOSYS,  HINDALCO

BUY – TCS,  (Since Nifty is in Don’t Buy zone, the buy indication for TCS can be ignored and hence you need not buy)

Question of the Day

Question – Can we invest any lumpsum in such situations since markets have fallen quite a lot in the last one week?

Answer –

Yes, if you are having any lumpsum amount, you can invest in 3-4 instalments at least. For example, if you have Rs.2 lakhs to invest, you can invest Rs.50,000 in 4 instalments by dividing the amount equally among  the stocks suggested during the Workshop for long term.

For example, Rs.50,000 should be divided equally in all bluechip companies suggested. Similarly, the next Rs.50,000 can be invested again after a few days in the same stocks.

In this way, you will benefit if markets fall further since you will be able to buy the stocks at lower prices.

Also, the monthly investments for long term can also be continued as usual.
