Weak global cues

Blog meant for 9 April 2018

Dear friends,

Flat day for markets on Friday. Nifty closed 6 points higher. However, the global cues were quite negative on Friday evening. European markets closed lower and the US markets ended 2% lower.

If the Asian markets open lower, Nifty may open lower too tomorrow due to negative global cues.

Nifty is in Hold zone for short term.

The indications for individual stocks for short term are –

DON’T BUY – HINDALCO, VEDANTA, AXIS BANK, INFOSYS

HOLD – TITAN, MARUTI, M&M, ASIAN PAINT, HDFC BANK, HDFC, YES BANK, SBI

WAIT TO BUY – ITC, RELIANCE INDUSTRIES

WAIT TO SELL – TCS

Long term investors should invest every month in bluechip shares.

Question of the Day –

Some of my friends are suggesting me to do intra-day trading inspite of them saying that they have made losses when they tried it themselves in the past. Why do people around us advice us to do things although they know that it is not worth doing?

Answer –

As you have rightly observed, although your friends may been advising you to intra-day trading or other things, they themselves have faced failures. Thankfully, they have told you the truth that they have made losses. Many times, people suggest things without telling the truth and we get to know the truth after we make losses or have bad experiences.

Good or bad, it is wise to not listen blindly to any advice. It is better to study and research about everything before deciding to do invest anywhere.

As advised in the Workshop, avoid intra-day trading at any cost since majority of the times, it ends up as a loss and you will unnecessarily lose money. Stick to short term and long term and not intra-day trading.
